  On August 12, an industry-academia-research exchange event aimed at advancing agricultural and livestock logistics transportation technology was held at Xinbaiqin Specialized Vehicle Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Xinbaiqin”), a subsidiary of CP M&E GROUP. The core team from the Tianjin Advanced Equipment Research Institute of Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as “the Institute”) visited Xinbaiqin for an inspection. Both parties reached a consensus on cooperation regarding the lightweight and intelligent design of agricultural and livestock vehicles and swiftly established a joint working group to facilitate the implementation of the project.

 

The inspection was led by Ms. Yong Zihan, Executive Director of the Cixi Intelligent Manufacturing Common Technology Joint Research Center of the Equipment Institute, with members including Hu Yuming, Director of the 4.0 Industrial Research Institute of the Equipment Institute, as well as Zhang Zhe, Market Director of the Cixi Research Center, Pan Size, Technical Director, and Zhao Chenghuan, Operations Director. Xinbaiqin Company General Manager Li Wenjun, Market Director Ji Lei, and other leaders warmly received the delegation and accompanied them throughout the visit and discussions.

 

01 Leading-edge Research and Development Empowering Industrial Upgrading

As an important research and development platform for Tsinghua University, the Tianjin Advanced Equipment Research Institute focuses on the field of advanced equipment design and manufacturing, accumulating core technologies in areas such as materials science and intelligent control. The Joint Research Center for Intelligent Manufacturing Common Technologies, co-established by the Equipment Institute and the Cixi Environmental Innovation Center, integrates university technical resources with local industrial needs to provide customized technical solutions for enterprises. This exchange with Xinbaiqin also aims to promote the deep integration of university technology and local industry through industry-academia-research activities.

 

As a representative of high-tech enterprises in Cixi City, Xinbaiqin is not only a leading enterprise in the agricultural and livestock logistics transportation sector but also a core member of the Thai Charoen Pokphand Group, a multinational corporation. Leveraging the group's nationwide industrial resources and globally leading R&D system, Xinbaiqin specializes in the design and production of bulk feed transport vehicles, livestock transport vehicles, and other products, earning a reputation in the industry for its keen market insight and continuous product innovation.

 

02 On-site Visit: Witnessing Intelligent Manufacturing

The first stop of the visit was Xinbaiqin's specialized vehicle production base. The Equipment Institute delegation observed the operation of intelligent production lines such as laser cutting and robotic welding—from high-precision component processing to modular vehicle assembly. The rigorous production processes and application of automated equipment vividly demonstrated the company's deep expertise in agricultural and livestock vehicle manufacturing, while also providing a clear understanding of actual operating conditions and application scenarios for future technical collaboration. During the visit, the Equipment Institute delegation highly praised Xinbaiqin's technical practices in areas such as corrosion-resistant materials and onboard environmental control systems.

 

03 Technical Exchange: Co-Creating Smart Logistics

During the subsequent discussion, both parties focused on the application of lightweight materials in agricultural and livestock vehicles and the development of intelligent transportation management systems. The Equipment Institute showcased its research achievements in new lightweight alloy materials and structural optimization design. This technology has the potential to help Xinbaiqin effectively reduce vehicle weight through technology transfer, thereby improving transportation efficiency and reducing energy consumption. Additionally, the Equipment Institute's breakthroughs in intelligent logistics and vehicle remote monitoring technology provide theoretical support for Xinbaiqin's development of intelligent agricultural and livestock transportation solutions.

04 Strategic Implementation and Technical Solution Validation

Following the symposium, both parties immediately established a joint working group to advance the collaboration project with an efficient and pragmatic approach. According to the plan, the preliminary technical solution will be developed within the next year, and the research and development outcomes will be gradually applied to Xingbaiqin's product line upgrades, achieving rapid technological conversion and market application.
